Anything that causes a barrier between the skin and the spray tan solution 12 hours before service will result in quicker fading, uneven results, & sometimes patchiness. Other "barriers" include deodorant, Vaseline, & Dove. Anything with aluminum can also cause green results.

Scheduling your service 48 hours, or 2 days, before your event will ensure the tan has fully developed and is at it's "prime." 

Common mistakes like shaving immediately before the tan (without 12 hours for pores to close), sunburns that will peel after service, & arriving with lotion/perfume/other skin barriers for service cause the uneven results no one wants.

For the first 24 hours, no. After that, you can continue everything as normal! This is because more water/sweat produced while the tan develops can cause streaking, patchiness, and uneven fading.
